Artists whose music inspires and moves me

I'm improvising off blues and rock with lots of improvisation. I also enjoy jazz, world, funk, trance-fusion and many other kinds of music.

Bands and musicians I like include the Beatles, Doors, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Cream, Traffic, Jethro Tull, Lou Reed/Velvet Underground, Bonzo Dog Band, Frank Zappa and the Mothers, Phish, Umphrey's McGee, String Cheese Incident, Disco Biscuits, Widespread Panic, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, many Motown and Stax artists, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Rita Lee and Os Mutantes, Fela Kuti, classical Indian music and much more! 

I like all kinds of music from downright weird to mainstream pop (also pretty weird at times :). I recently enjoyed this upbeat Blues Traveler video, and over the rainbow it's all too beautiful, but I digress : )

I'm also inspired by ideas in the book, Free Play, and open to all kinds of new influences, including you!
